根據美國國務院發布的聯合宣告，黎巴嫩與以色列已同意實施停火，並將加速建立由黎巴嫩武裝部隊獨自控制的試驗區，同時排除其他勢力。此協議是經過第四輪美國斡旋談判後達成的。黎巴嫩總統表示，停火有望在24小時內開始實施。然而，儘管宣佈了停火，以色列仍對黎巴嫩南部發動襲擊，並威脅進一步攻擊貝魯特，這對協議的永續性提出了質疑。

此外，此停火協議也為解決伊朗問題帶來了希望。黎巴嫩停火協議被認為可能推動伊朗協議的進展。黎巴嫩方面將黎巴嫩停火視為與華盛頓達成任何和平協議的條件。然而，有報導指出，黎巴嫩方面要求停止真主黨的襲擊，並將停火與真主黨從黎巴嫩南部撤離掛鉤。
