根據《每日郵報》（Daily Mail）報導，2024 年 10 月 19 日午夜左右，康乃爾大學 1 名 20 歲女大學生應友人邀約前往校內兄弟會「Chi Phi」參加派對。法國 24 西語（France 24 ES）指出，1 項民事訴訟指控該名女大生在派對上遭集體性侵。近 2 年後，輿論壓力促使案件重新調查。亞洲新聞台（CNA）引述受害者向調查人員的說詞，她表示在遭集體性侵的過程中「感覺自己像誘餌」。
