美國田納西州死囚 Christa Pike 於 9 月 30 日晚間的死刑執行過程中，因 2 次注射致命藥物失敗而中止，目前仍在醫院接受呼吸[作用]器維生，生活跡象不穩定。
Pike 現年 50 歲，當年 18 歲時因殺害同學 Colleen Slemmer 被判死刑。她原定的處決將使她成為田納西州 200 多年來首位被處決的女性。執行當晚，急救車輛抵達 Riverbend 最高保全監獄，處決程序隨即中止。
律師 Stephen Ferrell 於 10 月 4 日接受有線電視新聞網（CNN World）訪問時表示，Pike 目前仍在加護病房，靠呼吸[作用]器維生，生活跡象不穩定，預後尚不明朗。律師團指出，Pike 的靜脈脆弱、導管放置不當，導致 2 次注射均未成功。
